BBC's The Virtual Revolution Episode 4

A few weeks back the BBC ran a series called the Virtual Revolution. As the site states "In the 20 years since its creation, the Web has had a profound impact on our lives" It continues daily to impact on how we work and how we learn. Although we have evolved from a state of ‘information poverty’, to what the BBC call one of ‘information affluence’, others may see it as information overload. Consider the recent campaign for Bing. Fact is we are still in the process of a massive transition, facing uncertainties, possible downsides and huge opportunities.

The last programme in the series looked at how we as humans' are evolving as a result of our use of the web. It's fascinating viewing. We all use the web in different ways, ways that suit our live stage, tech experience and confidence, no one way is right, nor wrong.

What is also on the site is the Web Behaviour Test, a BBC initiative is designed to identify the differences in the way people use the web and the impact its having on our brains.

This fun test takes around 15 minutes and categories you into one of 8 web animals, each representing different behavioural characteristics of web usage.
Web Elk
Web Bear
Web Fox
Web Ostrich
Web Hedgehog
Web leopard
Web Octopus
Web Elephant
Enjoy.
